Ingredient Spotlight

  • Butter: Since we are flavoring this butter you can just use a regular stick of unsalted butter. If you are using a salted butter then you don’t need to add the salt from the recipe.
  • Honey: You can easily swap out the honey for maple syrup if you want to!
  • Vanilla: Optional, but I love the extra pop of flavor it brings. You can use almond extract also if you prefer. Or leave it out.

How To Make Cinnamon Honey Butter

Find the complete recipe card below with measurements and full instructions.

Butter in a bowl with sugar, honey, and cinnamon.

  1. Add the butter, powdered sugar, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla into a small mixing bowl.
  2. Whip with a hand mixer, I find smaller amounts are easier done with a hand mixer over the large stand mixer bowl.

Tip

Be sure to use room temperature butter, this makes it easy to whip and create a light and airy texture. If needed you can microwave the butter for 5-10 seconds. Or I like to place mine next to a warm oven burner. Any way you can warm it without melting it.

Storage Information

  • Short Term Storage: Store the cinnamon butter at room temperature for up to 3 days, then move to storing in the refrigerator for up to one month.
  • Freezing: Wrap the butter in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag, or store in a tightly sealed glass jar. Store for up to 6 months. Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature before serving. You may need to whip it up a bit before serving to restore the airy texture.
