Frosty, creamy, tart and sweet. These Mango Margaritas are the perfect drink to pair with your favorite Mexican dishes or to simply enjoy on its own.
This recipe creates a restaurant worthy mango margarita thanks to using real mango. This recipe can be made with either fresh or frozen mango.
How Do you make a mango margarita?
There’s two ways to enjoy a margarita. Blended or on the rocks. So let’s talk about making a mango margarita on the rocks first.
What does on the rocks mean? Over ice. This is a great option if you don’t have a blender.
To make a mango margarita on the rocks we will combine tequila, triple sec, and mango juice. Stir our shake it up to combine. Then pour over a cup of ice.
How do you make a frozen mango margarita?
This is personally my favorite way to enjoy a margarita but I didn’t always have a blender, so these are still a fun luxury for me.
The recipe below is for one margarita. The basic idea is 1 cup of ice and 1/2 cup of frozen mango per margarita. You can use fresh mangoes also, but I find frozen mango makes for a really creamy drink. And since we’re not using a sweetened juice in this version adding some agave adds a nice sweetness overall.

These are SOO GOOOOD!!!! We’ve been making the frozen ones all quarantine and they are the best. I’ve even made to-go ones for friends! You can fit two margs in a mason jar! We’re all about the frozen version, and after trying 6+ different types of frozen mangoes we’ve determined the Whole Foods organic frozen mangoes are the best! They give the best taste and consistency. Seriously these are so delicious!!! Thank you!
Great recipe! Your video is super clean too! Wondering what fps and camera was used for the blender slow-mo shot?
Hi Walker! This is one of the few videos I didn’t film myself, so I don’t know that information sadly. I want to say they filmed that segment and one other segment that day in my taco video that was in 4k so it could be easily manipulated.
Both the ‘rocks’ and frozen versions are wonderful – I can’t believe it took me so long to look for and find these recipes and yours are easy and perfect. Thanks!!
So glad you enjoyed Keith! Thank you.
I made the frozen margarita and it was delicious! I highly recommended. I added just a little bit more of the orange liquor and that made it for me.
Yum-O! I quadrupled the recipe for a big ol’ pitcher to go with tacos tonight. SO delish. Not too sweet, which I was worried about. Perfect. Thanks for an awesome recipe with clear and easy-to-follow instructions.
i love this taste sooooooo gooooood thanks for the idea hope you make more goood ones
I LOVE margaritas! I used to write a cocktail recipe every Friday, and many times I was making them and taking pics in the morning. I could fake it sometimes with juice or water, but there’s no faking something like scotch 😉 These look so great, Serene. I would gladly drink one at any time of day!
Oh my gosh Andi, so funny! I never even considered not adding the alcohol! In my defense I had to get the measurements just right so that I didn’t make them too strong 🙂 and apparently I had to do that step at the same time as my photoshoot. Hope you have a great weekend coming up! Thanks for stopping by
