This creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce is loaded up with fresh garlic, cilantro and tart lime juice. This sauce is perfectly cold and tangy for drizzling on tacos, nachos, burritos and salads.

Cooling and Creamy
When the spice level is hitting the roof in your Tex Mex dishes, this cold, creamy cilantro lime sauce comes to the rescue!
Use this sauce to drizzle on tacos, burritos, nachos..basically anything and everything. The coldness cuts through the heat to give just the right amount of relief.
Uses for This Sauce
- Topping for tacos: carnitas, carne asada, Mexican brisket, shrimp.
- Salad Dressing: this sauce is a great dressing, one of my favorites is to take some shredded cabbage, some shrimp cooked in taco seasoning, and use this sauce as the dressing!
- Dipping Sauce: serve up alongside of some Mexican Grilled Chicken, or some Chile Lime French Fries.

- Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Equipment
Notes
- Use fresh lime juice – Bottled doesn’t taste the same.
- Keep the cilantro stems! They blend well and add lots of flavor.
- Let it chill – 30 minutes in the fridge lets flavors really come together.
- Adjust to taste – Add more lime for tang, jalapeño for heat, or salt to bring it all together.
Storage Tips
- Fridge: Store in a sealed jar for up to 1 week.
- Freezer: Freeze in small portions (ice cube trays work great!) for up to 1 month. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
- Spicy: Add some jalapeño for a bit of heat.
- Dairy-free: Use a dairy-free yogurt or sour cream alternative.
- Thinner consistency: Add a splash of milk until pourable.
Use It On
- Tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas
