This Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce is perfect for dipping fries, chicken, or whatever else your heart desires. Super easy to make at home.
Chick-Fil-A is one of those places that just make me happy. The spicy chicken is my favorite. Along with the waffle fries. And of course the whole meal is not complete without my sweet tea and about a gallon of Chick-Fil-A sauce. I just want to swim in that stuff. Does anyone else go to the window and ask as politely as possible if they could pleeease have more sauce? Or is that just me? I’m always so disappointed when I get home and my bag only has two of those little delicious packages in there. I almost want to cry.
Well, those days are no more!! This sauce tastes just like the real deal. And I will admit to devouring this entire plate of fries and the whole batch of sauce all to myself as soon as this photoshoot was done. Well, actually I did share a couple of fries with the older girls. Since they were staring. It only seemed right to give them some. Next time I will be sure to make this snack when they have already gone to bed and I can have the whole plate all to myself!
I’m beginning to notice that a lot of my recipe inspiration comes from some of my favorite restaurants, and it is completely possible that I will soon reach a point where I don’t need to go out anywhere because I can just make the food from home. Do you suppose I am doing this on purpose so I never have to change out of my yoga pants? The hubs is beginning to get scared. Either way, this sauce is an absolute must!!! Next on my list is to conquer their spicy chicken. That Spicy Chicken Deluxe sandwich makes me weak in the knees. If I could master that at home even the hubs wouldn’t mind the fact that I don’t dress up.

Nummy! I love Chick-Fil-A sauce and now I can make it at home! It’s funny that now I’m planning a menu around the sauce. Fries, chicken tenders… 😉
Wow! Those fries and sauce look perfect. If it tates like Chick Fil A I know I’ll love it!
Have a great day Serene!
I seriously could eat Chick-fil-a every single day– love this sauce– thanks!!
You want to hear something truly, utterly sad? There are no Chick Fil A’s anywhere near our house. Like, we need to cross a bridge and travel multiple hours to get to one. Yea, I know… the horror!!! Love that I can bring this sauce into my kitchen!! Sweet 🙂
Oh my goodness! We love that stuff! Great pictures!
Just curious, what kind of barbecue sauce do you use for this recipe? There are so many out there and they all taste so different, I can imagine it would make the sauce taste different depending on what type you use. Thanks!
Hi Melissa! I just used an Original BBQ sauce when I made mine. And the sauce turned out wonderful! I do imagine using a different kind would change up the flavor a little bit.
Brand of sauce?
Hi Bryn 🙂 i just used a store brand because that’s what I had!
Just made this, and it’s absolutely wonderful! the only thing I did differently is double the mayo to make it a little creamier.
Just made this tonight! It was delicious!! Used a little less lemon juice then what the recipie called for.
I will definitely try this, but you can also mimic the Chik-Fil-A sauce with Trader Joe’s Carolina Gold BBQ sauce and mayonnaise. Generally I use equal parts of the two ingredients.
You have no idea how great this is. Chick Fil A sauce is always the hit in my house. The ingredients would go great with just about any veggie. I will have to try this soon.
LOVE! Chick-Fil-A! We finally have one opening in our town but it’ll be busy for months. Glad I can make this at home!
What kind of BBQ sauce do you use? I have sweet and spicy at home, but I want to make this exactly right.
Hi Diane, I use Original BBQ sauce when I make this. It doesn’t matter which brand, I’ve tried several. I typically just have a generic store brand on hand that I use 🙂 You can use the sweet and spicy also, but it will give that flavor to the Chick Fil A sauce also. Hope that helps!
We love that stuff! Can’t wait to try making it at home. Thanks for the recipe!
The Chick- Fil- A sauce is what makes go back to Chick – Fil – A. Great job!
Their spicy chicken is my favorite, too! How have I never not tried this sauce?! Can’t wait to try your homemade version!
I have never had Chick-Fil-A sauce! But I have a thing for sauces, and I am definitely trying this!
This looks amazing! I can devour that whole plate of fries and dip myself, too!
Gah! This is perfection. We could eat that sauce with a spoon and now we don’t have to venture out to Chick Fil A for it!
Chick Fil A waffle fries are my favorite! This sauce will be a great addition to my recipe book.
We live in Canada, where there are no Chick-fil-a restaurants. I made this with the Copycat Chick-fil-a nuggets from Kristen Schell, and my husband said (I didn’t tell him what it was) “This kind of looks like Chick-fil-a sauce” *tastes it* “It is Chick-fil-a sauce! Where did you get it?” haha, thanks for the awesome recipe!
How fun!! I love this story! Sounds like you made his night 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed the recipe.
Can’t even wait to make this!!!
One of my favorite things in the world! Can’t wait to try this at home 🙂
I am drooling. This looks amazing, yum. I wish we had a Chick-Fil-A in Oregon!
I could probably drink this straight – that’s how much I love it!!
What a great recipe to have handy- everyone loves this sauce!
Oh my gosh. This is my FAVORITE sauce! I can’t wait to try making it at home.
Is there a recipe for the Polynesian sauce? LOVE LOVE LOVE that one!!!!
Hi Tracie! I haven’t made a version of the Polynesian sauce, but I’ll get that added to my list of things to try! Thanks 🙂
I mean, what mall lover doesn’t love this?
OHHHH MY GOODNESS! I almost at the entire batch of this! It tastes EXACTLY like Chick-fil-A Sauce and even though I tweaked a few things to my taste and diet (I’m vegan so i used vegan mayo and im not a fan of regular dijon so i used honey dijon and because of that i only used 1 tbs of honey). Thank you so much for this 😁🖒
That’s awesome Brittany! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Need recipe for Polynesian Sauce!
I’ll have to start work on that one!
This is great! I did add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and I also doubled the mayo.
Then, it was absolutely perfect!
My kids love it!
I’m so glad! Thanks for sharing Melissa!
Wow! I will def. have to try this recipe! Thanks so much! Have you tried making the Creamy Salsa dressing (from Chick-fil-A) at all?
Hope you enjoy the sauce! And I haven’t made a creamy salsa dressing yet. I actually have that on my list of things to make soon though! Be on the lookout in January sometime 🙂
Delicious! I followed your recipe exactly and the flavor was spot-on! I used a “smokey” bbq sauce from trader joe’s. The consistency and color were different, it was a little runny, but neither of those bothered me! Thanks for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed Molly! Thanks so much 🙂
Just followed the recipe to a ‘t’ and this is NOTHING like the real chick-fil-a sauce. Not sure what everyone else is tasting but this is NO WHERE NEAR the awesomeness from chick-fil-a. Very disappointed.
