This Peppermint Whipped Cream only needs three ingredients! It’s super easy to make and delightfully minty! Perfect on top of any hot drink or just to eat with a spoon.
Super easy, and definitely delightful. This Peppermint Whipped Cream is so tasty, so fluffy, so decadent. And it’s the perfect compliment to a lot of other Christmas treats you may be making this season.
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Heavy Cream: Use a cold heavy cream or heavy whipping cream.
- Powdered Sugar: Confectioner’s sugar melts into the cream without any gritty texture. You can also substitute with white granulated or organic cane sugar. If you are using a granular sugar you will want to add it at the beginning of whipping the cream so it has more time to dissolve into the cream.
- Peppermint Extract: This is where the peppermint flavoring comes from, McCormick Peppermint Extract or Organic Peppermint are the brands in my pantry.
How to Make Peppermint Whipped Cream:
- Add heavy cream to mixing bowl, mix starting with low speed, then gradually increase to medium speed until the cream starts getting thicker (the gradual speed progression prevents you from spraying yourself with cream). I love to use my hand mixer, but you can use a stand mixer also.
- When the cream starts to thicken stop the mixer, add in the powdered sugar and then resume mixing again starting with low speed and increase to medium speed up to high speed.
- The cream will thicken and start to peak. Stop the mixer and add in the peppermint extract. Mix on high speed until the cream forms into soft peaks.
Serve
Serve this Peppermint Whipped Cream on top of a slice of pie, cake, or these French Silk Brownies! Of course the obvious is putting a heaping spoonful on top of a mug of hot chocolate, or coffee.
This Peppermint Whipped Cream is packed with peppermint flavor and you may possibly find yourself dipping into it with just a spoon and indulging.
