Coconut Smoothie. This smoothie is loaded with coconut flavor! Made with coconut milk and other natural ingredients, this is guaranteed the best way to start the day!
Good Morning!! Let’s start the day off right shall we? And by that I mean let’s start it off with a glass full of coconut smoothie. Out of all flavors in the world, coconut is probably my favorite. Well, it’s between coconut and lemon. I just love the mellow taste of coconut though. And this smoothie is bursting with coconut.
Plus seeing as how this smoothie is made with clean ingredients it’s perfect for starting the day with. The base of this smoothie is Silk Unsweetened Coconut Milk. The Silk Unsweetened Coconut Milk is perfect for this smoothie since it has a hint of coconut flavor, it’s dairy free, and it’s not loaded with any extra sugars.
It’s made creamy with the addition of a frozen banana. No worries though, you won’t be overpowered by banana in this smoothie. In fact I can barely even taste it. But it does make this drink ultra smooth.
We’re sweetening things up just a bit with some agave. You can always leave that out if you need to. I personally like a little hint of sweetness with my coconut. Depending on how ripe your banana is when you freeze it you may be able to skip the agave anyway. If the banana is really ripe when you stick it in the freezer then it will add more sweetness to the smoothie than if you froze a not so ripe banana. (Just a tip, I have found the best way to freeze a banana is to slice it and spread it over a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Then once it’s frozen I can stick it into a bag or just use it straight from the baking sheet. If I just put the sliced banana into a bag and then freeze it I always end up with a huge lump of banana that my blender doesn’t particularly appreciate.)
I also added some unsweetened shredded coconut to the smoothie just for a little extra flavor kick. They don’t really blend up, which leaves some texture to the smoothie, so if you’re not into that I would recommend leaving out the shredded coconut.

Hi thank you so much for this lovely recipe!
Let see how it goes ?
Can you used frozen coconut chunks instead of shredded coconut?
As long as it blends up well absolutely! It would probably make the smoothie more slushy like.
Can you use sweetneed coconut milk instead?
Of course! It will make the smoothie a bit sweeter, you might not need to add the agave. Taste it first before you add it in.
Have you ever tried honey instead of the agave? I’ve never tried agave before, but we do have honey here that I could use if it wouldn’t change the flavor too much.
Honey is absolutely a great substitute for agave, but you will have a slight honey taste. Shouldn’t be too much in this smoothie though since it’s just a small amount.
I think coconut sugar will go well with this but it wont be white anymore
Absolutely! And if it doesn’t bother you that it might not be white then go for it!
What kind of coconut are you using here?
Hi Dee, I’m not sure what you mean, the recipe includes the ingredients that I used. The coconut milk and shredded coconut.
This smoothie looks so delicious! I love coconut.
I keep a stash of frozen bananas in the freezer at all times!
