Lava Flow Mocktail Ingredients & Substitutions
- Banana: Use frozen bananas to create a frosty, creamy, and sweet flavor.
- Pineapple Juice: Use a pure pineapple juice.
- Cream of Coconut: This is the sweetened cream of coconut, don’t substitute with coconut cream.
- Sugar: White granulated sugar or organic cane sugar can be used. Or you can substitute with any sweetener option of your choice.
How to make a Virgin Lava Flow Drink
In a blender add the ice, frozen banana, pineapple juice and cream of coconut. Blend until smooth. Pour the pineapple slush into another container or glasses and place in freezer. (if slush is too runny you can add more ice or place the slush into the freezer for about 15-20 minutes until desired consistency)
Wash out the blender and then add the ingredients for the strawberries, sugar, and ice. Blend until smooth.
Pour the strawberry slush portion in the glasses over the pineapple slush. Garnish glasses with chunks of pineapple and strawberry.
Store
Lava Flow Drinks are best served immediately since they are a slushy texture. If needed you can prepare them up to 2 hours in advance, store them in the freezer, then pull out and allow to sit at room temperature briefly before serving.
Can I add alcohol to this?
To make this an alcoholic lava flow drink, you can add a shot of coconut or white rum to the pineapple coconut slush portion.
