Let’s Make Some Apple Crumb Muffins
- In a medium size bowl add the butter and light brown sugar, then cream together. Next, stir in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Add in the flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir this together, slowly adding in the milk until the batter is combined.
- Finally, fold in the diced up apple into the muffin batter.
- In a small bowl combine the ingredients for the crumb topping, the flour, light brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and stir until large crumbs form.
- Spoon the apple muffin batter into liners placed in a muffin tin. Then, sprinkle the crumb topping on the top of the batter. Bake these in a 375℉ degree oven for 30-35 minutes until baked through and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Storage & Serving
Store these muffins at room temperature in a sealed container for up to 4 days.
When you’re ready to enjoy one I recommend heating it up, slicing it open, and slathering with some salted butter.

I accidentally used self raising flour in the crumble! I hope they turn out okay!
I would like to try this recipe without the topping. Do you think the result will be equally delicious?
These muffins look delicious! I love apple pies, cobblers, breads, etc., so I bet I will love these as well. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Thank you so much Jodee!! You’re so sweet. I love apple anything too ๐ so comforting.
Yummy! Thanks for the recipe. But I have one question for you. Here: http://www.listonic.com/protips/get/fyvxubpnys I’ve read that instead of butter, you can use applesauce in baking. Do you think it would work for your recipe?
Hi Paula! Thanks so much ๐ And yes, I have absolutely used applesauce when making cupcakes before. It does change the texture so keep that in mind. I don’t know how the applesauce would do in this recipe. I’ve never subbed with applesauce while using greek yogurt in the same recipe. It’s something to try though! If you try it out let me know what happens!
Oh my gosh Serene, these muffins look gorgeous! I love fall flavors and apple treats and am totally drooling over all that streusel – my absolute favorite! So pretty – pinning ๐

Is it really 14 cups of sugar?
Hi Summer! Oh my goodness NO! That’s a typo. Thanks so much for pointing that out. I corrected it, it’s 1/4 cup sugar. Thanks again, and have a good evening!
Yay! Thanks so much. Can’t wait to try these.
