Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4-5 mint leaves
  • 1 ounce lime juice freshly squeezed, approx 1 lime
  • ounces silver tequila
  • ounces triple sec
  • ½ ounce agave can sub with a simple syrup
  • teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • lime wedges

Garnish

  • mint leaves
  • limes sliced

Instructions

  • Add the mint leaves into a cocktail shaker and muddle gently (lightly mash) 4 to 5 times.
  • Add the lime juice, tequila, triple sec, and agave into the cocktail shaker.
  • Top with 4-5 cubes of ice. Shake the drink until chilled and mixed.
  • Prepare a glass by running a lime wedge along a portion of the rim and dipping into coarse margarita salt.
  • Add ice cubes, or crushed ice to the prepared glass.
  • Pour the drink into the glass, straining to hold back the muddled mint leaves.
  • Garnish with extra mint leaves and lime slices.

Notes

Make Ahead: If preparing a pitcher of drinks ahead of time for a party, leave out the ice from the pitcher, this way the drink doesn't become watered down as it sits. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to serve, then pour into cups with ice.
