Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila silver or blanco
  • 4 ounces ginger beer
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed (approx 1/2 a lime)

Garnish

  • lime wedges
  • mint leaves

Instructions

  • Fill a copper mug with ice.
  • Pour in the tequila, lime juice and top off with ginger beer.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Garnish with lime wedges or slices and fresh mint leaves.

Notes

  • Tequila: Use a silver or blanco tequila. You can substitute with reposado, this will give a more complex flavoring.
  • Ginger Beer: There is no actual alcohol in ginger beer, but it adds the flavor. If you substitute with ginger ale you will be missing the strong ginger flavoring.
  • Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed lime juice to avoid any additives or other flavorings.
